I lied a bit last time, I continued to work on the character sheet because I'd forgotten a few of the QOL features I had intended. As many pre-pause players know, a few things were especially cumbersome for us to do on people's behalf or required the server to be taken down entirely, among them restatting and renaming characters. These were big pains before, but are now automated processes that take less time for us to complete than for you to request them. In case anyone's wondering about burrow renaming: as burrows will no longer have names, it will no longer be required. You'll rename your burrow by changing what the sign outside it is labelled. All of this will be accomplishable instantly on the spot, without you even needing to log out. I also improved GM messages to players to add a few more flavor options, like sending custom notifications (the text that appears along the bottom of the screen), to expand our ability to mess with you.
In addition to fully 100% converting the admin panel to the new layout and adding in tons of much-needed functionality to existing tools, I started work on UI for reassigning roles for staff and creating a highly customizable application form for recruitment. My goal here is to ensure that Farwoods as a community can continue indefinitely; if Pica and I were ever to become unavailable (or simply decided to step away), so long as we had promoted other people to sufficiently high levels of access, they could continue to manage pretty much everything in our prolonged absence. Existing staff members could not only continue to recruit and promote new ones, they could create additional roles to delegate their own authority to, open recruitment for them, customize the applications as they saw fit, and so on. We hope that by the time the game releases on Steam, we will have a trustworthy team we can delegate all moderation matters to, so that we can focus on playing and GMing, and only step in as necessary.
