The first few days have been awfully exciting. The folk here are real generous. Haven't met too many but the critters I've met seem interested in helping me get settled. I met a priest. Some kinda cat. I gotta admit, I don't know my felines. There weren't too many of them back home. Would it be rude of me to ask? Anyway, never gave much thought to the whole dragon business, but I gotta admit, he made it sound pretty good. I need all the help I can get and well, if that help's gotta come from some magical beasts, then that's that. 

Who else did I meet? I'm so bad with faces and names. It's a bit embarrassing. Do you think anyone will notice? Well, there was a raccoon with a red coat, real pretty, I gotta admit. Their name was Propoli. We didn't chat much, they were busy showing some foxes around. They were probably new arrivals too. Propoli seemed kind. I might see them around again, I guess. That must be it. No other names or faces are coming to me right now. I have been doing most of my looking around during weird times of day, to be fair. It's been rainy here, which don't bother me too much. I find it kinda relaxing, even. And, I've been running around in the dark. I guess not all critters can see as good as we badgers can in it. 

Besides making acquaintances, I'm trying to make a name for myself. I guess smithing and stoneworking is the badger thing to do, and it don't seem like a bad trade. I've been practicing my mining. Damn book fell apart in my paws. I feel a little bad about that. Don't know if I was too rough with it or what. Guess it was kind of an old book. Bit hard to mine without a pickaxe, though. Who woulda thought! Gotta see if anyone'll let me borrow one. Is that the kind of thing you can just borrow? I don't know. Guess I'll find out. Found a pebble, some more pebbles...Oh, and some kind of crystals. Those've gotta be good for something. I'll do some asking around on that. 

That about sums it all up. Putting the book down now. Gotta go do some more stuff so I'll have more to write about.
