Well, goes to show how forgetful I am, because when I took a look at the Tracking code in Game Maker I remembered it's way more complicated than I had planned for. As a result, I only managed to half-finish it today; the basic Tracking functionality works and shows trails, but hovering, right-clicking, ordering, focusing, and sniffing to assign colors are not in yet. This is gonna take one or two more days, unfortunately. On the bright side, overlapping the shadows turned out to be really easy to implement thanks to Godot's shaders. I'm still wrangling the shader to hide parts of the trails that are in vision-blocked tiles, which is why you can see a bit more than you ought to in this teaser video. Unfortunately, no new functionality yet, except that the scent trails properly cut off at the edges of shadows now instead of being disconnected in some circumstances! But this new way of handling the trails should be much more performant overall, and I should have some more juicy teasers for you Tracking users soon.
