As the title says, applying a wax seal to a package does not properly add the seal to the description or the sprite. It does allow you to 'unseal' the package. Attempting to reapply the seal seems to 'unseal' it without opening it.

The wax on the stamp does not get used.

1. CRTL + Drag wax stamp with wax onto package. (in this case it has an item in it and is dyed)
2. Item does not change.
