I made bread for the first time! I'm so excited. It smells delicious... And I got the mash right this time! Cooking is fun once you get the hang of it.

(This takes longer than wax, but maybe less time than bread... The oven was still roaring when it was done.
Turns out the book I was using had a bunch of pages stuck together, and there's more types of pie! I should try making them all and see if they take the same time.)

(This took longer than I thought to bake... I did some crafting, I went on a scrounging trip, I visited the library, and it still wasn't done! I guess I don't have to worry so much about burning it. I'm just a little cautious after last time...)

(This doesn't take long to cook at all. I was making a bunch of different things and this was the first to cook, even though it was the last one I put down. Maybe about half the time it takes for sea jelly? I'm hoping they're worth it, for the amount of myr caps it takes to make them...)

[The writing is shaky.]

I need to talk to someone, but it’s dark and I’m scared and I don’t want to go outside right now.
I saw something. By the road. A white rabbit, just standing there. I was about to stop and ask if they were okay, when they looked right at me, even though I was hiding.
Something about them… felt wrong. But I said hi anyway. 
And when they spoke, their voice… It was like multiple critters fighting to speak, but they could only have one turn at a time.

They said something about "the fog".... I keep thinking about it.

The wind whispers of a garden where the sun once shown.
But like a thief in the night, the fog stole the laughter and the light.

The fog whispers secrets. It dances with the shadows, and weaves the tapestry of doors.
Each door leads to a truth, and each truth leads to a prison.
Beware the door that is open, awaiting any who enter – it may be hungry.

Then, something changed in their expression, and they looked more normal. I thought maybe they were sleepwalking. Sometimes, when I’m having a nightmare, I say weird things too.
But…

They said their name was Mopsy, and they said I saw them die.

Everything in my paws told me to run, so I did. 
Silk said if you ever see a shade, you run, and they didn’t look like one but they were dead and they kept trying to walk closer every time I backed up and I was scared.

I don't know what any of this means, but someone needs to know about it. First the shade, and then that weird poem I found in the forest, and now this. Something's happening.

I don't think I can sleep tonight...

Okay, so… I guess they’re not a ghost…? 
Apparently Mopsy is just... like that, and they’re known for doing things like this… But that doesn’t make me feel any better about what I heard…

I… think I accidentally entered a pact. I don’t know how to feel about this…

Mopsy showed up at the guild and asked me what I did. I was a little ...okay, a lot scared talking to them, but I told them anyway. They said they would help me, and gave me a bunch of scrounge, and then asked if there was anything I wanted. I was surprised, but I thought maybe they were actually really nice!
So I told them herbs, because I’m always hungry and even though I’m getting better at finding them it’s still not enough sometimes. And then they said, “The pact is sealed.”

I didn’t realize until after that I never asked them what they wanted…
