Here's another dragging teaser. Today I fixed the following issues:
- Player movement is only reflected on the dragging player's client.
- Dragged players disappear when they are dragged into a new zone.
- Dragged players don't come with you when you go down a ladder.
- Inconsistent player spawning when moving between zones.
This involved substantially altering the logic for transitioning between zones, which is fine because it's more consistent with the seamless zones movement now; the server no longer automatically resets your location when you change zones, it just marks the transition so it can properly validate your next move being from the opposite side of the map. It did introduce a lot of bugs with climbing and watching other players transition zones, but I believe I've sorted most of them all out now.
Still to fix:
- Holding down the movement key desyncs the drag on the dragged player's client.
- Dragged player sometimes makes a tree climbing noise when moving between zones?
- Drag breaks after going down a ladder as the dragged player gets respawned.
I'll have a little poll in the feedback channel on the Discord server vis-a-vis what this means for the Eject button.
