October 1st, 2026
Welcome to spooky month! If you haven't noticed, the game's calendar has ticked over into 14 Moonbite as of this post, which means winter has long since arrived and it's been very snowy. Congratulations to Year of the Ram critters! We hope you are planning to make the most of your year. Scroungers and herbalists may have noticed that nodes have become very scant; this is of course intentional. If you failed to stock up in preparation, don't worry; Frostwane is on its way. Here are the in-game holidays for October:
Threshold: 13 Petalbloom - 16 Petalbloom (Oct 30 8pm EST - Oct 31 8pm EST)
Threshold will mark the start of the Dawn liminal season in this half of the golden interlude. That's right, the year 140 is a Dawn liminal year; expect a long season of chaos and misfortune. Threshold, if you aren't familiar, is a festival in which critters dress up as beasts and monsters for four days straight and try to scare each other, in order to harden everyone to the stress and fear of the liminal season. Candy is traditionally passed out.
This also means that we will have Zenith as our extra month this long year. If you want to celebrate the festival of Ardortide this year, it will last for around 5 real days in November, so you can begin preparing for that now. Ardortide is a celebration of Elyenne characterized by an emphasis on skill and knowledge. A (skill)book fair and/or mentorship meet might be appropriate.
Our event was delayed again last month and began on September 20th instead of the 12th, but it has begun! It will run every Saturday from 8pm EST to 3am EST Sunday until it reaches a conclusion. As an absolute last resort if things progress very slowly, we will wrap it up around the end of the liminal season. So don't expect the pirates to stay for Rhiannovas. You can view the event details here. The forum thread for the event also has some posts from participating players already, so if you haven't gotten a chance to play, feel free to check those out!
The post-return bugfix blitz has now ended; the game seems to be stable enough that people are able to play without running into bugs that they can't work around, aside from some rare lingering issues where people are booted to the wrong side of the zone upon transitioning and end up stuck somewhere. That technically happened in the previous testing period, though, so it's not really a new bug. 99% of the time, moving around the map is working fine and people seem to no longer be encountering positional sync issues with other players.
During this triage period, we were pushing updates at a rapid pace to return the game to a playable state ASAP. That meant we stopped documenting changes (closing forum bug reports notwithstanding), since we were updating the game sometimes multiple times a day. Now that stability has been achieved, the triage period is over and we will return to having less frequent updates with patch notes.
We are still accepting staff applications, particularly for Junior Game Masters. If the event has gotten you excited about the game, and you have ideas for things you'd like to run yourself, consider applying for a staff position. You can run your own events during whatever hours you please, so players whose time zones don't align with peak activity or who can't play on Saturdays are encouraged to apply and create something to do for your fellow off-hours players. Expect to start small at first and work closely with the admin team to run your event.
