Character Question of the Week

Quarrel

As the title says, every week there will be a new question posted here ~~as long as I remember~~. These can be seen as a way to prompt consideration for a side of your character you've never thought of, or just as a fun excuse to talk about them. Remember to switch the character you're logged in on if answering multiple times and feel free to suggest more questions.

Week one: Considering the upcoming cooking update... what's your character's favorite food? (And if they don't have one currently in game, what real world food would they enjoy?)

Harris

~~Harris' favorite food is whatever you give him~~

Out of in game items, his favorite scrounge is probably sowthistle, and his favorite berry is sunberry!

His Loved Item TM list would also include myr stew, mash, bread, and pizza.

He's not a picky eater and finds joy in simple things, there isn't much he'd dislike. Though he probably doesn't have a super high spice tolerance.

As far as things not currently in game: I think he would follow the cartoon stereotype rabbit and love carrots. I think he'll always have a big place in his heart for forage, but he'd generally like any fresh veggies as well. I think he likes sweet, salty, nutty, or earthy flavors best so like any kind of tubers or nuts he'd like a lot too. I could see him really enjoying turnips, celery, cabbage, potatoes, almonds, pecans, or trail mix. When I adopted him on Webkinz he got rng assigned potato crisps as a favorite food but I think he'd prefer them as fries or wedges.

In most alternate universe settings he remains a vegetarian with similar tastes, although in Warrior Cats his favorite food is rabbit because WindClan and the irony amuses me.

Miracle

Miracle's favorite food is probably something so rich and fancy I can hardly conceive of it lol. Out of in game items, she likes any tea, moonberry pie, bitterberry pie, bitterberry cider, and cheese best. She would love a fancy charcuterie board. Presentation is often more important for her actually enjoying something. She gives me big faerie vibes to I think she'd like something floral, so like if someone was doing the whole fancy food deconstruction thing like essence of nectar she'd eat that up (daintily). I think she'd also like fancy dark chocolate and of of course, wine. She'd also probably like artisanal coffee.

Azalev

I kind of regret making Azalev ascetic because I don't think they'd be that discerning about what they eat. (Initially I just wanted to try a character with each diet type though I have come up with a retroactive reason for it besides the feral Vibes of scrounging around eating everything raw).

Their favorite in game things to eat are firemelon, sweetberry (juice or roasted), and wormroot. ....Their original diet may have included a lot more Actual worms. ~~I feel like they'd be a little gross and be like: Fleas? You mean itchy popcorn?~~

If they could eat one cooked item I think they would really like candy, especially like Halloweeny candy like candy corn and gummy eyeballs.

(Their original iteration, in PCE and then Pathfinder as a witchy maine coone catfolk, so they liked fish, eggs, and gingerbread in that context)

Kitami

Kitami's favorite food is eggs.

It causes her extreme guilt and is the actual majority reason why she doesn't eat any food at all anymore. She had been given them when she was younger, after her childhood in an orphanage, but before being adopted for nefarious purposes. She didn't know what it was. It wasn't a plant, certainly. She knew that much. She feels deeply unclean and as though she is a fraud hiding in civilization. She would never, ever tell anyone this.

"Why? Why did it have to be good?"

Hmm, probably pretty expected but she likes sweet and brightly coloured things. So I think she'd be delighted by something similar to macarons, just a small treat that can be neatly set out on a plate that comes in many flavours and all sorts of colours.

In-game, can't go wrong with a nice sandwich, just like an English Tea Sandwich.

Molly

Like Kitami, Molly doesn't eat food anymore, and tends to turn it down when it's offered. But she does remember that Bertha used to give her free pies when she was a fledgling mage and couldn't feed herself yet. Those pies are her favorite food.

But she's not a gray mage, so she can't eat them anymore.

Quarrel

I've joked about Quarrel enjoying pizza enough that it's definitely a thing. I can't wait to see all of the varieties so I can decide on a very specific order they'll get every time and mope about when it's not available or someone messes it up.

Like Molly their favorite food is due to the memory surrounding it. They'll never experience it again, but drinking warm milk and sharing fresh cookies at the teahouse is a memory they thank Velyra for frequently. (And it's also why they always have cookies on hand they share with those in distress or newly arriving. :))

This week's question is a little more complicated.

If your character could be played anywhere (the entirety of Kalris, the Old World, ETC) would they move? Why?

Molly

Molly's not particularly attached to the area around the Library, especially not anymore. She'd definitely stay in Kalris, because she's lived there all her life and has no fondness for the Old World, but as a purple archmage I think she'd be open to exploring the island when the Wayshrine wasn't keeping her busy.

Miracle

Miracle was originally conceived for a Butterfly Court trrpg one-shot, so basically anywhere she could be doing more courtly intrigue things is where she'd prefer to be.

Her backstory is a little loosely goosey atm, but I did give her the title Marchioness as part of her long name bit, so presumably there is a March she could go back to (though she is rather put off by the idea of leaving her seaside manor to decay) - In my mind that's either just on the edge of Kalris, or possibly a sort of Kalris 'colony' just outside of it

The drama of Harris having to leave Kalris tickles me a bit to speculate on, RE: Grimshire AU Harris.

But no, absolutely not. He loves where he is right now. He'd try to adapt if he had to but he cares too much about community and would miss critters dearly.

Bear

Bear's real happy where he is now. He left his position as a royal smith in the Old World to have more control over his work and owns a successful smithy with a client base that cares, like him, primarily about quality and beauty. He plans on living out the rest of his life in Torrus although he'll likely get more and more picky about what leaves his anvil over time.
