I spent today building an elaborate and over-complicated seasonal daylight and temperature system. Gone is the old, simplistic system where outdoor temperature was immediately tied to the current weather and days were equal with nights all year 'round. Now, the daytime hours shift realistically with the seasons, and the outside temperature changes over time to a target high/low each day based on the season and weather. Rain and snow are determined by the temperature and the game will switch to the snow tile when it's built up enough on the ground. Also, when you enter an outdoor zone, the game will notify you what the temperature is like, as a placeholder for the new UI that will have a temperature gauge. That's a little easier to show than the rest.
