Cinna

I'm not gonna reallocate any stats over it but I'm inclined to say Cinna would.  Her class was Cavalier in Pathfinder (she had a Capybara mount), so if there is some kind of mount animal she'd probably have had some experience with it. The idea of her riding like.. a turtle is pretty funny and cute.

She'd be her usual gruff self but loving. Any busywork in providing care is mediative/calming to her. Definitely would take pride in the bond with her animal, and critical of how others treat similar companions. (Very judgy, "I would do X routine this way with my animal, don't screw around") And she would prefer it's company than most critters- in Pathfinder she often would sleep in the stables rather than room with the party.

And of course speaking badly of her pet would get her hackles raised.

Cinna

(Also update to Cinna's age/birthday... her zodiac is year of the Tiger!)

I feel like that actually fits better than the ones I was considering.  Solitary, territorial, stalks around at night.

Azalev

Azalev also had a familiar when I played them in Pathfinder (their class was Witch), but they were also a Catfolk back then so they've deviated quite a bit from that original concept lol.  Their familiar was a Chesnut-breasted Malkoha because I saw neat bird picture and said yes that one.

I actually kind of like the idea of their family or ancestors(?) having druid-like bond with a beast (or perhaps more scavengers who follow around a beast from a safe distance)  but that's something I've been keeping ambiguous.  If its not lore accurate its fine because what's fact and what's fantasy in terms of Azalev's history is very muddled.

But currently I think Azalev wouldn't think to want a pet unless they saw someone with one, then it might suddenly become the only thing they want for that day until they get distracted and forget about it. They're going to change in the timeskip, but I don't picture them becoming much more responsible lol.

And belatedly- Their Zodiac is now year of the Eagle!  I hadn't considered it but having a bird zodiac does suit their free spirted personality.

Quarrel

Kind of butting in to say I would love to hear of Old World cultures which survive by following animals for various reasons. Relationships with beasts who provide safety in exchange for offerings (food)? Something similar to honeyguides? There's lots of potential. I wonder if scavenging off of beasts prey was common for some critters before the Pantheon's influence.

Old World lore is kept deliberately vague so that it's easier for people to write their own backstories and import characters from other settings, so "lore accurate" is not really an applicable term as long as it doesn't blatantly clash with established lore (like, say, "my character is part-beast," because that would have unpleasant implications with beasts not being intelligent creatures). Having a cultural beast-bond à la wolves and ravens is certainly not out of the question, especially if it's a beast that would not be a natural predator of your race.

Quarrel

It's been no secret how excited I am for husbandry as a skill. I've talking about it since it was revealed.

Quarrel was basically a hospice home for an injured bee they rescued over the haitus. Though it passed well before the return, it sparked an interest and proved to them that they could be competent enough to care for a smaller creature. Granted, after much panicking and trying to find someone who knew more than they did in the middle of their self isolation meditation

Apparently a lot of the varieties of bees which live naturally in forests are actually solitary. I... have been reading so much about bees. I have gone so far as to create hypothetical species based off of the native plant life we know exists on Kalris. Literally getting osmosis from my character being bestowed with a special interest.

Quarrel

What are you looking for most when the game comes back online (in less than two weeks)? Have you made any plans?

Dart

I think Dart might pick up the husbandry skill post hiatus if it interests me a bit further. They're definitely not the most suited for it, but they'd definitely try their best to care for another creature. Dart's skill plan is currently just whatever I find fun since they're 50/50 on blacksmithing and weaponsmithing.

For what I'm most excited for I think it's interacting with other critters again! I luckily wrote down Dart's orders and such before the hiatus as well, so I'll probably get to those (along with making some new stuff!) as soon as I have extra materials to smith a bunch of the new stuff at once along with finishing the old orders.

Harris

I'm excited for husbandry too.. planning on making a new character who prioritizes it (and forest craft, likely).

I'm aiming for September or October before I bring them in though, would be nice to get them in on the ground floor but I want to re-acclimate my original characters first.

Harris is definitely going to be busy figuring out the new cooking mechanics!  Though honestly, I'm looking forward to just a good old scrounging session. Out of the new mechanics, I gotta say dragging and cursed dolls are really exciting, I just know there will be lots of shenanigans there.   And I am very, very excited for the Pirates Ashore event. I feel like its the kind of plot I could see Harris getting more actively involved in (though I did love playing him during the Vampire as well).  Harris has probably been one of my overall favorite characters to RP so I'm just looking forward to utilizing him again in general.  And can't wait to see developments from faces new and old! ^^

I may be misremembering if larger world map was on the road map or not but if it was oh you know I'm gonna be wandering around lol.

I have some rough ideas of what he might have been up to, though things might change based on the details of the timeskip?  I do like the idea that he was too sick to celebrate his birthday (the starting date being a few days after).

Quarrel

Popping in to say the next question will probably be what your character was doing over the hiatus so everyone can share if other characters ought to know, and players who have been procrastinating have a place to spitball.

I am holding off until we get more definitive information, so the last two have been last minute questions lol

I'm also not sure if this should stay running after the hiatus was up... it mostly started as a way to do short character prompts to keep touch while waiting.

Cinna

Cinna I am hoping to utilize a bit more, especially during the event.  No major plans, just anticipating getting more used to combat... the hard way lol.

I did toy with the idea of changing up her burrow to be less of a hideaway and more of a jail but I'm not married to it yet.

I feel like Cinna would change the least in the time skip. Business as usual.  She's already old and set in her ways lol.

Miracle

I've completely procrastinated the writing exercises I was working on for Miracle rip lol.  (Namely a Play and/or Murder Mystery party planning)

So those will be on the backburner a while longer.  I feel like she was pretty heavily Involved with the last event, so in my head I may be trying to give my other characters a bit more spotlight this go around but definitely playing things by ear, she is one to try to jump on an opportunity, if she thinks she sees one. (And I famously cannot stop myself from doing things for the Bit)

I think it probably makes sense that Miracle may have gone back to her estate for at least some of the skip...?

New mechanic wise- she's going to be very excited about the hygiene things- hopefully can build up acquiring resources for her spa, buuuut that may not be in the cards for her any time soon. And gods! Finally, some wine!

Azalev

Azalev will be older in the time skip, so slightly less childish.  But I think still strange and nonsensical. Most of my plans for them will probably be getting a feel for what they're like in this new stage in life.   They were probably traveling for most of the skip, and may have met back up with family.

I think they will have realized they were learning a lot of brewing techniques here that they didn't have on the road though, and ventured back to learn more.  They're definitely going to get a kick out of seeing critters get drunk (they're French drinking age now dw).   Its also possible I may start playing Azalev with more nomadic tendencies and have them appear more/less during specific seasons.  There are 100% critters I'm especially excited for them to catch up with though.

Azalev

Also. Inspiration hit me at work today- Azalev may take on some performance interests in the time skip! The original Pathfinder Azalev actually did have a whole feat for juggling, and they do have a convenient Backstory Bard so it feels like a natural fit to me.

I can just picture their auntie being excited like 'oh? You're getting on stage? This is almost making me feel maternal for once-' and then they pulls out a clown horn and she's just like 'i can't believe I left the place for this'. (Their aunt was a former court bard trained in lute lol)

I think it will be fun to try my hand at some goofy 'bardcore cover' type lyrics.

Song

I think Song was mostly hanging around and having fun over the hiatus. I think I'm gonna have him do some more lighthearted shenanigans when the game comes back. No concrete plans beyond working on the post office for Song really.
